Responsibilities

At Quest, the Lead Direct Support Professional provides leadership and direction for the Direct Support staff and ensures the overall quality of care for all individuals in the program by assisting individuals to increase their independence in addition to mastering the skills of a DSP.

  • Master all skills and competencies of a DSP1.
  • Provide direct supervision, support and feedback regarding performance to all DSP1’s.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director/Program Manager on the performance evaluation of DSPs and recommend or participate in the positive direction process as appropriate.
  • Assist the Program Director/Program Manager in maintaining the appropriate staffing ratio through staff scheduling.
  • Assist in the onboarding process of new employees through training and modeling.
  • Assist the Program Director/Program Manager in all areas of the support plan process.
  • Participate and assist in the assessment and development of programs to enhance and increase each person’s independence.
  • Manage household and resident funds by accurately recording and tracking expenditures.
  • Ensure all required reports/documents are completed on time and complete documentation audits to ensure compliance in the areas of safety, transportation/vans, central files, daily communication logs.
  • Include the people served in maintaining adequate accessible food and supplies in the home.
  • Ensure all persons served health needs are met, including but not limited to doctor/dental visits and assist with emergency situations as needed.
  • Input purchase orders and monthly attendance within the accounting software system.
  • Follows all Quest policies and procedures.
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Eligible to legally work in the United States
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Successfully complete a background check and drug screen
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Valid FL Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to provide proof of educational achievement or required certifications such as a high school diploma, GED, college degree, advanced degree, or medical credentials
  • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role is preferred
