    At Quest Inc, the Development Manager is responsible for administration of all Development activities and processes within Quest’s Development Dept.  Responsibilities include financial management of all donations from Orlando and Tampa regions from receipt through recording to acknowledgement. 


    Responsibilities also include donor database management, DonorPro expertise, event administrative management, including Wine Quest, Join the Quest and other events, donor communications and mailings and all other duties as assigned.  In addition, the Development Manager will have specific fundraising assignments as they relate to special events as well as individual and corporate donor solicitations.   Assist with administrative support for Tampa region.


    • Wine Quest:

    o Execute annual Wine Quest silent and live auctions that provide revenue increases in line with event revenue goals.  2018 auction revenue reached $100,000 so this is a critical part of the Development Manager’s role.

    o Spearhead auction solicitations as well as work with Wine Quest committee volunteers and Quest staff to delegate responsibilities for auction item solicitation

    o Manage Wine Quest auction results, history and goals.

    o Pre-event, maintain tracking to ensure auction content supports goals. Solicit auction items in line with best sellers of the past and new additions. e. Produce auction descriptions and bid sheets for auction display.  

    o At event, manage set up, registration, auction check out and all other event details.

    o Post-event, update Donor Pro for winning bids & bidders and follow up for outstanding auction payments.

    o Post-event, acknowledge all sponsors and donors.

    o Management and execution of all administrative aspects of Wine Quest, as assigned.

    o Assist with Wine Quest ticket process and sponsorship solicitation 


    • Join the Quest:

    o Undertake fundraising goals as well as administrative management for ‘Join the Quest’, Quest’s annual fundraising event.

    o Provide recommendations for table hosts based on donor giving history to assist Senior Development Director in delivering Join the Quest revenue. 

    o Host a Join the Quest table to attain table support for Join the Quest Goals.  Look for $5,000 in contributions and pledges from her/his table.

    o Manage the critical process of ongoing reminders, pledges and donor payments to ensure that all pledges become cash donations. 

    o Follow up regarding outstanding and delinquent donations.  Discuss with other members of Development Dept. to determine best approach.

    o Update weekly donation reports to reflect method(s) of collection attempts.

    o Assist with set up and coordination during the event.



    • Financial Responsibility:

    o Ensure all donations are received, processed and acknowledged. 

    o Ensure that all recurring donations, including credit card donations, employee giving, United Way, and any/all other donations are managed on a timely and accurate basis. 

    o Provide leadership, monitoring and taking control of this process ensuring delivery of pledges and contributions as promised.

    o Annual recurring donations are ~$100,000 so this is a critical leadership role. 

    o Issue weekly donations report. 


    • Casino Night (if planned as per annual plan and budget):

    o Take ownership of and provide leadership for Casino Night ensuring revenue to support Quest Kids scholarships. 

    o As they become available, take a lead role for beneficiary events and/or any other Quest, Inc. events.


    • Direct Mail Campaigns:

    o Manage administrative support for all campaigns including year-end appeal, Valentine card, and stewardship card; includes prepping and sorting mailing lists and recommending recipients based on donor giving history.

    o His/her responsibilities are critical to ensuring attaining goal of revenue goals, as budgeted.

    o Provide support for any other mailings as required throughout the year.

    o Provide support for initial phase of Tampa donor outreach as the Tampa region initiates their fundraising plans. 


    • Marketing:

    o In order to ensure revenue results of all Development activities, coordinate Marketing deliverables calendar with Development and Marketing departments, providing content as needed and ensuring deadlines are met on both teams.

    o Manage marketing deliverables as a working document, reviewing and updating as needed. 


    • Donor Stewardship:

    o Follow up and ensure donor satisfaction on a timely basis as donor issues arise.

    o Recommend donor stewardship events and assist with execution of those events.

    o Update constant contact email distribution list on a monthly basis to ensure any new donors and/or partners are receiving Quest newsletters and electronic communications.


    • Skills Development:

    o Seek out opportunities to participate at Quest programs, e.g., Camp Talent Show or holiday parties.

    o Keep abreast of development trends in the community to ensure Quest’s leading role in resource development in Orlando and Tampa communities. 

    o Seeks out professional skills development with Edyth Bush Institute at Rollins College.  


    • Data Base Management:

    o Be the Development expert for Donor Pro. 

    o Implement and execute all donor records ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

    o Take responsibility for all donor communication either by implementing same or ensuring that ‘relationship owner’ has handled. 


    • Development Annual Plan:

    o Initiate Development Annual Plan for Orlando and Tampa regions collecting input from all Development staff and managing the plan as a working document. 


    • Individual and Corporate Donor Responsibility:

    o Working with Development Leadership, look to steward 10 current individual donors with the goal of moving those donors higher on the giving pyramid with the goal of attaining $5,000 in contributions. 

    o Seek out 6 new individual or corporate donors with the goal of bringing those donors into the mission with the goal of attaining $5,000 in contributions and  

    provide Board giving analysis, reporting recommendations for increased revenue.


    ·         Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business administration preferred

    ·         5 years proven track record in a responsible administrative role in a nonprofit organization is ideally desired and can be substituted for education qualification

    ·         Possess excellent organizational and administrative skills with intensive attention to detail.

    ·         Be well versed and articulate in the mission being able to communicate well with donors and community partners with the goal of encouraging donations.

    ·         Ability to multi-task ensuring accurate and timely delivery of duties and responsibilities

    ·         Ability to develop, as needed, and, then, follow detailed protocols, guidelines and instructions with intense attention to detail.

    ·         Ability to develop and maintain positive, congenial and professional relationships.

    ·         Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written methods.

    ·         Eligible to legally work in the United States

    ·         Be at least 18 years of age 

    ·         Successfully complete a background check and drug screen

    ·         Ability to read, write, and speak English

    ·         Ability to thrive in a team environment

    •         Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
