    Responsibilities

    The Staff Accountant 1 – General Ledger position is responsible for preparing a variety of monthly journal entries and schedules, assist in Accounts Receivable processes, and annual/quarterly fuel tax reporting.

    • Complete drafted finance reports including monthly and year to date income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statements and other internal reports.
    • Process most monthly recurring journal entries and accruals.
    • Run and organize variance reports by cost center.
    • Run month end reports from fixed assets system and record current month depreciation and disposals.
    • Annual Audit: Collect and compile essential documentation for Quest, Inc. annual audit
    • Process and submit by predetermine due dates the monthly State Fuel Reimbursement.
    • Process Camp Thunderbird applications. Process all camp billing and collections once Camp workbook is been updated. Handle all Camp billing related questions from our internal and external customers. Provide Camp staff with updated aging prior to each camp session as well as monthly during the off-season.
    • Complete most monthly balance sheet schedules for the Accounting Mangers review.
    • Serve as Staff Accountant II back up.
    • Build and maintaining positive relationships with staff and customers by:
      1. Helping others understand accounting processes and assist with any questions or concerns.
      2. Acknowledging mistakes with appropriate apologies and correction of errors.
      3. Follow up on any concerns on the same or the next business day.
      4. Showing others kindness and gratitude.         Ensure compliance with all Quest policies and procedures. Keep information related to consumers and Quest confidential.
      5. Assist Accounting Manager when necessary
      6. Optimize operating procedures to ensure quality, effectiveness and efficiency in order to help Quest meet its mission.

    Qualifications

    • Work under pressure; handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Organize, plan, and meet deadlines
    • Make sound business decisions
    • Communicate effectively and work independently with those individuals (both internal and external) which allows one to meet your goals.
    • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Business
    • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with an intermediate level of experience in Microsoft Office programs.
    • Eligible to legally work in the United States
    • Be at least 18 years of age
    • Successfully complete a background check and drug screen
    • Ability to thrive in a team environment
    • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
